MTS India to send 9 million SMSs on immunization alerts

MTS India has partnered with Responsenet to create awareness on immunization against whooping cough, measles, diphtheria, Hib infection, pertusis, tuberculosis and tetanus.

As part of this joint initiative, MTS India will send out more than 9 million special SMSs to create awareness and notify subscribers in Delhi, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh (West) to get their children immunized against these diseases, the company said.

MTS, in partnership with Responsenet, has been part of the India Unite to End Polio Now (IUEPN) initiative, which was formed to spread awareness about polio eradication.

IUEPN is a collaborative effort between the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MOHFW),World Health Organization (WHO), National Polio Surveillance Project (NPSP), Rotary International, and the U.S. Centre for Disease Control (CDC).

As part of its commitment, our plan is to use the power of mobile technology to reach out to maximum number of people and notify them about the need for timely immunization and getting their child secure against diseases like Polio, Measles, Diptheria, Pertussis, Tuberculosis and Tetanus and other vaccine preventable diseases.”

Recently MTS also launched INNOVATSii for Indians. INNOVATSii stands for Innovation in Russian language. The company has invited participation from engineering and management institutions in India including IITs, Regional Engineering Colleges amongst others.
