Jio enhances customer base as Airtel, Vodafone Idea and BNSL lost

Reliance Jio has enhanced its customer base in India as rivals such as Bharti Airtel, Vodafone Idea and BNSL have lost subscribers in November 2024.

The latest TRAI report has revealed that Bharti Airtel has lost 11,36,785 (1.136 million) mobile customers in November 2024.

The number of mobile customers at Bharti Airtel has reached 384.273 million in November 2024 as against 385.410 million in October 2024.

Vodafone Idea has lost 15,02,255 (1.5 million) mobile phone customers on its telecom network in November 2024.

The number of mobile phone customers on the network of Vodafone has reached 208.975 million in November 2024 as against 210.477 million in October 2024.

BSNL has lost 344,473 mobile phone customers on its network in India in November 2024. BSNL’s customer base on mobile network reached 92.051 million in November 2024 from 92.396 million in October 2024.

Reliance Jio has added 1.212 million mobile customers to its mobile network that offers 4G and 5G mobile services. Reliance Jio has 461.231 mobile phone customers at the end of November 2024 as against 460.019 million in October 2024.

TRAI said wireless subscribers decreased from 1,150.42 million in October 2024, to 1,148.65 million at the end of November 2024, registering a monthly decline rate of 0.15 percent.

Wireless subscription in urban areas decreased from 625.56 million in October to 624.32 million in November.  Wireless subscription in rural areas decreased from 524.86 million to 524.32 million during the same period.

Except Karnataka, Odisha, UP (East), Bihar, Himachal Pradesh and Delhi, all other service areas have showed decline in their wireless subscribers during November.

During November, 12.79 million requests were received for MNP.

TRAI said the number of broadband subscribers increased from 941.47 million in October to 944.76 million in November with a monthly growth rate of 0.35 percent. India has 40.97 million wired broadband customers and 898.63 million mobile Internet customers at the end of November 2024.
