India telecom services market to grow at CAGR of 11.5% during 2011-2014

Telecom Lead India: The telecom services market in India
to grow at a CAGR Of 11.5 percent over the period 2011-2014, due to the launch
of 3G telecom services, according to Research and Markets. The report noted
that key service providers such as Airtel, Reliance Communications, BSNL, and
Vodafone are dominating the market space.

The telecom Services market in India has also been
witnessing the emergence of voice over Internet protocol (VoIP). However, the
lack of telecom infrastructure could pose a challenge to the growth of this
market.

According to the report, 3G networks were being rolled
out on a large scale and operators started delivering next-generation services
to customers. 3G has certainly provided yet another boost to the already huge
Mobile sector.

The report further added that the growth will be fueled
by attractive applications such as e-governance, tele-medicine, e-education,
multimedia services including movie downloads, video streaming, mobile TV, etc.

In India, where mobile cellular penetration is much
higher than that of fixed telephone lines, mobile broadband through 3G will
drive broadband penetration.

India will continue to be the fastest-growing Telecom
market in the world in terms of the total number of new subscriber additions.
This growth rate is expected to last for a few years before the rate of growth
starts leveling off. Given the huge growth potential offered by the Telecom
industry through increased coverage and newer products and services, the
competition will remain intense with both existing and new players attempting
to maximize their share of the growing Telecom market,” said an analyst from
TechNavio’s Telecom team.

India to experiment 4G LTE soon

Indian mobile industry is set to witness 4G LTE mobile
broadband auctions in the next 12-18 months. Equipment vendors like Ericsson,
Nokia Siemens, Alcatel-Lucent, Huawei, Samsung and ZTE will be vying for the
big opportunity.
