AT&T names Marissa Shorenstein president of AT&T New York

Mobile major AT&T announced Marissa
Shorenstein as president, AT&T New York.


Shorenstein
will oversee AT&T’s legislative and regulatory objectives as well as guide
AT&T’s public and external affairs strategies across the state.


“Marissa
brings to AT&T a deep understanding of city and state government and an
expertise in public affairs. Under her leadership, AT&T will continue to
work with our customers, public officials and community leaders to provide the
best possible service and link to the telecommunications industry while
simultaneously serving as a model corporate citizen across the State of New
York,” said David Condit, president of state legislative and regulatory
affairs for AT&T.


Prior
to this assignment, Shorenstein served as president and CEO, Marissa
Shorenstein where she led Public Affairs for AT&T in New York and New
Jersey. Shorenstein served as director of Communications for Andrew Cuomo’s
campaign for Governor of New York in 2010 and Press Secretary and Deputy
Director of Communications for the State of New York under Governor David A.
Paterson.


She
previously worked for former vice president Al Gore, former General Wesley
Clark and former New York State Comptroller H. Carl McCall. Shorenstein also
served as spokeswoman and Senior Manager for Strategic Planning and Corporate
Communications for the New York Jets during their bid to build a stadium on
Manhattan’s West Side.


In
her role as head of Public Affairs for AT&T, New York and New Jersey,
Shorenstein helped the company expand its relationships with key community and
public leaders, enhancing AT&T’s reputation and brand while helping the
company achieve its legislative priorities.


Shorenstein
serves on the Advisory Board of the Joan Shorenstein Center for Press, Politics
and Public Policy at the Harvard Kennedy School, the Board of Directors of the
Phoenix House and the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum’s Next Generation
Board.
