Nokia India announced its fixed access and core technology deal with GTPL, a cable TV and broadband service provider, to upgrade and modernize its network.
GTPL will utilize Nokia Broadband Network Gateway (BNG) solutions for ultra broadband access in residential areas.
GTPL will use Nokia’s GPON technology and Nokia BNGs to enhance service speeds and deliver high-speed internet, Linear TV and Video-on-Demand (VoD) services.
The cable operator will use Nokia 7750 Service Router BNG supports Carrier Grade NAT (CGNAT) and Deep Packet Inspection (DPI) functions for delivery of advanced service capabilities.
GTPL engineers will deploy Nokia’s GPON equipment across various cities in the Gujarat state by the end of this year. GTPL is the largest Multiple System Operator (MSO) in Gujarat in Western India, with 67 percent share of the Cable TV market.
“The modernized network will allow us to provide a world-class broadband experience to our subscribers,” Anirudh Jadeja, managing director at GTPL Hathway, said.
Vinish Bawa, head of emerging business at Nokia, said the deployment will enable GTPL to meet demand for faster network experience.
