Nokia has appointed Emma Falck as President of its Mobile Infrastructure business and a member of the Nokia Group Leadership Team, effective September 1, 2026, as the telecom equipment maker accelerates its transition toward AI-native 5G Advanced and future 6G network technologies.
Falck joins Nokia from Siemens, where she currently serves as Executive Vice President, Products, Smart Infrastructure Buildings. In her role at Siemens, she led global product management, development, and supply chain operations, focusing on automation, software platforms, and connected devices. Her previous leadership experience also includes senior strategy positions at Boston Consulting Group and KONE.
The leadership change comes at a critical time for Nokia as telecom operators increase investments in AI-driven network infrastructure, cloud-native core software, and open network architectures to support growing enterprise and consumer demand for advanced connectivity services.
Justin Hotard said Nokia’s Mobile Infrastructure strategy is centered on building a software-led infrastructure business powered by open interfaces, industry standards, and ecosystem partnerships to accelerate innovation in 5G Advanced and 6G technologies. He added that AI is increasingly shaping the evolution of telecommunications networks toward what the industry describes as “physical AI,” where networks are designed to support intelligent automation, robotics, and connected systems in real time.
Hotard highlighted Falck’s operational leadership and transformation expertise as key strengths that will help Nokia strengthen execution and improve competitiveness in its Mobile Infrastructure division.
Falck said telecom operators and enterprise customers increasingly require partners capable of delivering AI-enabled network performance with greater speed, predictability, and operational efficiency. She noted that Nokia’s portfolio across radio access networks, core software, and telecom standards development provides a strong foundation for future growth.
Her priorities will include embedding AI into Nokia’s development and delivery processes while improving operational execution and accelerating innovation for customers deploying next-generation mobile infrastructure.
Nokia’s Mobile Infrastructure division plays a major role in the company’s broader network business, which includes radio networks, microwave transport, cloud-native core solutions, and network software supporting global telecom operators. The appointment also reflects the growing convergence between telecom infrastructure, industrial automation, and AI-driven software systems.
Falck, who holds a PhD in Computational Physics from Aalto University, will be based in Espoo, Finland, and report directly to Nokia CEO Justin Hotard.
