Metaswitch powers Asia Pacific telecom networks

Metaswitch Networks, a global supplier of next generation telecom
infrastructure and applications, today announced new customer wins in Australia and the Philippines, expanding its presence in the Asia Pacific region.

CallStream Communications, the new Australian telecommunications company recently formed by Telco   Consolidators Group (TCG), will launch Metaswitch Hosted Business Services to small and medium-sized businesses across the country.

The company plans to leverage Australia’s commitment to become a world-leading
digital economy by 2020 with the roll-out of the National Broadband Network (NBN).

There’s never been a better time for CallStream to bring new
cloud-based services directly to Australian companies,” said Grant
Musaphia, director of TCG.   We also plan to offer wholesale business services to other carriers looking to accelerated deployments.”

Economic development is also driving network evolution in the
Philippines, where Metaswitch now has four customers in partnership with Pastels Inc. Newly added are General Telephone and Iriga Telephone, family-owned incumbent operators that started serving rural communities in the early 1970’s. Both have announced plans to modernize their networks and will offer next generation services to their subscribers.

Operators in Australia and the Philippines see the importance of
bringing the latest technology to their customers,” said Jeff
Lattomus, vice president of Metaswitch Networks. Customers are
demanding new, innovative applications and the Metaswitch product
portfolio is an ideal match.”
