GENBAND expands S3 SBC portfolio

Telecom Lead America: GENBAND has announced the expansion
of its S3 Session Border Controller (SBC) portfolio. Also, the company has
enhanced hardware options for its S3 SBC portfolio.

The software-based GENBAND S3 SBC portfolio provides
solutions suited for a range of environments, from small service provider
deployments and enterprise customers all the way up to the world’s largest
fixed and mobile service provider networks.

Every GENBAND S3 has the same product features,
web-based management platform, CLI and provisioning APIs, enabling us to
deliver uniform management and integration capabilities across our entire SBC
line. The recently announced wins at such premier accounts as BT
and Orange Business Services demonstrate the market demand for our
intelligent, scalable platform,” said B.G. Kumar, president of GENBAND’s
Multimedia Business Unit.

The company claims that the new S3 1000 provides a cost
effective solution for smaller deployments supporting highly distributed or low
density specifications.

Furthermore, the company says that the S3 1000 is ideal
for smaller carriers, large carriers with remote points of presence and the
growing Enterprise SBC market.

The standard 2RU S3 2000 SBC utilizes the
latest in Intel computing and Cavium network processing chipsets and provides
exceptional scalability with the price/performance advantages of standard COTS
components.

GENBAND said that its S3 can deliver adaptive security,
insightful policy enforcement, any-to-any interworking and advanced session
routing for IP Interconnect, IPX, Hosted Unified Communications, SIP Business
Trunking, access deployments, Voice over LTE (VoLTE) and Rich Communications
Suite (RCS) services across Next Generation and IMS networks.
