Ericsson announced its connected car deal with Volvo Cars to enable its digital vehicle services in more than 120 markets for the next five years.
The deal with Ericsson, the second largest telecom network maker, will enable Volvo Cars to provide car owners and drivers with its latest developments in connected car digital services such as automation, fleet management, telematics, navigation, and infotainment.
Ericsson Connected Vehicle Cloud (CVC) platform delivered via geographically distributed centers — takes account of legal, security, and privacy obligations on a global scale – such as compliance with the European Union (EU) General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
“Our Ericsson Connected Vehicle Cloud platform will result in rapid innovation and the faster launch of new services to the benefit of Volvo Cars’ partners and customers,” Asa Tamsons, head of Business Area Technologies & New Businesses, Ericsson, said.
