Ericsson lost two senior management team members

EricssonEricsson announced the resignation of two senior management team members — Jan Frykhammar and Magnus Mandersson.

Ericsson has also appointed Fredrik Jejdling as executive vice president. Apart from the new role, Fredrik Jejdling will continue in his current role as head of Business Area Networks and member of the Ericsson Executive Team.

Jan Frykhammar and Magnus Mandersson, executive vice president and advisor to the CEO, will leave Ericsson to pursue other opportunities.

The departure of senior management team members under Borje Ekholm, the new president and CEO, is happening at a time when the telecom equipment maker is considering more job cuts to revive the company.

Starting in 1991, Jan Frykhammar has held a number of leadership positions in Ericsson. He has been part of the Ericsson Executive Team since 2008 and was appointed chief financial officer in 2009. Prior to this, Jan Frykhammar held the role as head of Business Unit Global Services.

Jan Frykhammar temporarily held the position as president and CEO during the search for a new president and CEO (July 25, 2016 – January 15, 2017), after which he took on the role as advisor to the CEO, focusing on corporate governance and efficiency.

Magnus Mandersson joined Ericsson in 2004 and has since held several senior positions within the company, including head of Ericsson’s Business Unit Global Services, head of Ericsson’s business in Northern Europe, and senior vice president for Business Unit CDMA Mobile Systems.
