Cinterion integrates its PHS8 module into BrightSKY’s 4G M2M router

Telecom Lead America: Cinterion, a provider of
cellular machine-to-machine (M2M) communication solutions announced that its
flagship PHS8 module has been integrated into the BrightSKY’s 4G M2M router
called simplify.

The router is designed for both industrial and
residential applications in a miniaturized, plug-in form factor. It leverages
Cinterion’s module to provide simultaneous high-speed data and voice
communications for up to 32 WiFi-enabled devices.

For the first time, simpliFi combines Cinterion’s M2M-grade 4G performance and security with
consumer simplicity, providing reliable, high-bandwidth communications in just
minutes. 4G networks are quickly rolling out around the world and BrightSKY’s
easy-to-use simpliFi router offers a solution to our modern hunger for wireless
high-speed connectivity, especially in rural and developing areas that lack
traditional infrastructure,” said Paul Kobos, senior vice president sales
NORAM, Cinterion.

The company said its tiny PHS8 module is small enough for
simpliFi’s unique power socket form factor.  Cinterion’s HSPA+ 4G
technology provides the broadband speeds and high bandwidth necessary for
simultaneous voice and WiFi connectivity for multiple devices.

There are millions of connected devices today that lack
wireless capabilities, relying only on WiFi or DSL for connectivity – from
laptops to tablets to medical devices and more. Our simpliFi device, powered by
Cinterion’s HSPA+ technology, provides true -plug-n-play’ 4G cellular
connectivity for both wired and WiFi devices requiring a broadband connection,”
said Mark Hedstrom, president, BrightSKY.

The router can be paired with Bluetooth-enabled devices.
For example, with such capability medical devices can send caregivers crucial
data in real time or cordless home phones can be used for both voice calls and
data communications over mobile networks.

The simpliFi includes USB and LAN interfaces to provide
cellular connectivity.
