Al-Jazeera Telecom deploys Exalt ExtremeAir microwave backhaul

Al-Jazeera Telecom of Baghdad, Iraq has deployed Exalt ExtremeAir all-outdoor microwave backhaul systems to provide Gigabit per-second (Gbps) connectivity to its core Internet network.

Exalt zero-footprint ExtremeAir systems deliver Gigabit-speed connectivity with and security to Al-Jazeera Telecom’s wireline and fiber infrastructure in Baghdad. The company said the Exalt systems extend 35 kilometers, unifying a key segment of Al Jazeera’s Internet network.

“We strive to deliver reliable, high-speed Internet services to our customers, and we can’t always rely on the fiber network to deliver our traffic,” said Rafal Hussein Al-Musawi, CEO of Al-Jazeera Telecom.

Al Jazeera, founded in 2004, plans to deploy additional Exalt systems as it expands its network in the coming months and years.
