At CES 2014, Indian smartphone vendor Micromax announced the launch of LapTab, a dual-boot (Windows and Android) tablet powered by Intel.
LapTab, the first dual-boot Windows and Android tablet powered by Intel, will be available in February, said Micromax in a statement.
Micromax says the new tablet will strengthen its presence in global telecom markets.
Rahul Sharma, co-founder, Micromax, said that LapTab fulfills that consumer need by giving them access to the world’s first dual-boot tablet.
Specifications of LapTab, which has 10.1” IPS display, include Intel processor Bay Trail-M, Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean OS and Windows 8, 1.46 Ghz Intel Celeron N2805 processor, 2GB RAM and 7400 mAh battery, 2MP front camera, 32 GB storage expandable up to 64 GB, etc.
The tablet supports Bluetooth v4.0 and Wi-Fi, ensuring full time connectivity.
The LapTab comes with a transleeve which can be combined as a cover and stand for the wireless keyboard packed with a 230 mAh battery promising a continuous usage of 20+ hours.
Consumers will also have an option to buy a customized keyboard for LapTab when it hits the stands.
