ZTE unveils its first single-chip LTE smartphone at CommunicAsia2012

Telecom Lead Asia: Chinese telecom gear maker and
emerging smartphone company, ZTE has unveiled its first single-chip LTE
smartphone called the Grand X LTE (T82), at CommunicAsia2012.

 

The latest smartphone from ZTE will be available in Asia
Pacific and Europe in third quarter 2012.

 

Using the MSM8960 chip from Qualcomm, based on advanced
0.28nm technology, the company claims that this single-chip smartphone is
faster and more energy efficient than any other model in the marketplace.

 

The power of Android 4.0 OS equipped with 1.5 GHz
dual-core CPU makes this smartphone a deadly combination to be used on a LTE
network connection.

 

The Grand X LTE (T82) offers an 8 mega-pixel main camera
that supports 1080p HD video shooting and playback and a front camera that
supports 720p HD video calls. It also WiFi capability and offers a maximum
download rate of 100M.

 

The smartphone has a buttonless design resembling a mini
tablet PC and 1900mAh large-capacity battery.

 

  The Grand series products are our high-end
flagship offerings this year. ZTE aims to enhance its profile in the high-end
market with the Grand series of smart terminals,” said He Shiyou, executive VP
and head of the Terminal Handset Division, ZTE.

 

At CommunicAsia 2012, the company is also demonstrating
other LTE products including V96A LTE tablet, the MF91 and the MF821 LTE
wireless network card.

 

The V96A is the world’s first TD-LTE/EDGE multi-band
UFi product and will be available in Europe and Asia Pacific in third quarter
2012.

 

 With heaby strategic investment in LTE devices, the
company claims that it holds 7 per cent of all global LTE patents among
vendors.

 

ZTE ranked 4th globally in Smartphone patent applications

 

Earlier, ZTE announced that it ranks fourth for the most
smartphone patents of any company globally, with 972 total applications.

 

ZTE, Marvell launch new TD-SCDMA smartphone for China Mobile

 

Recently, ZTE and Marvell jointly announced a new
TD-SCDMA smartphone called U880E for China Mobile.
