Smartphone shipments dip 11% in first quarter: Canalys

Worldwide smartphone shipments dropped 11 percent in the first quarter of 2022 due to unfavorable economic conditions and sluggish seasonal demand.
Kazakhstan mobile networkSamsung (with 24 percent share), Apple (18 percent), Xiaomi (13 percent), Oppo (10 percent share) and Vivo (8 percent share) are the leading smartphone brands in the world during Q1 2022, Canalys report said.

“Despite the looming uncertainty in global markets, the leading vendors accelerated their growth by broadening device portfolios for 2022,” said Canalys Analyst Sanyam Chaurasia. “While Chinese vendors are suffering supply constraints at the low end, their global expansion is being hampered by a slowdown in their home market.”
