Intex Technologies posts 300% increase in mobile phone revenue

Intex Technologies said its mobile phone business revenue rose more than 300 percent, accounting for 65 percent of the company’s overall annual turnover in FY 2013-14.

Intex Technologies, which supplies smartphones and IT products and solutions, has posted 100 percent increase in revenue to more than Rs 2,000 crore in FY 2013-14 against Rs 1,000 crore in FY 2012-13.

The mobile division of Intex Technologies’ western region contributed 40 percent growth, while the growth from northern region was 30 percent toward the growth of this vertical. Of all products within the mobile division, smartphones have accounted for a major portion of revenues for the vertical.

Narendra Bansal, chairman and managing director at Intex Technologies, said: “Our 100 percent growth story in FY13-14 is a clear reflection of the success of our product innovation and revamped brand imagery.”

“With our mobile division having contributed significantly to our overall revenues, this vertical is being considered as a future growth driver. FY 14-15 looks promising because of a growth in the demand for smartphones and Led TVs. Our foremost focus this year will be on innovation,” Bansal added.

In FY 2014-15, Intex aims to invest Rs 100 crore in its marketing operations.
