Galaxy S5 4G smartphone comes with 5GB LTE free data for 2 months

Samsung today announced Galaxy S5 4G, a LTE smartphone for Indians. Airtel 4G subscribers will get 5GB 4G data / month free for 2 months as a special offer.

The price of Samsung Galaxy S5 4G is Rs 53,500. On the other hand, Galaxy S5, the first version without 4G, is available for around Rs 35,000 on ecommerce channels.

Galaxy S5 4G device will also come with the Rs 10,000 upgrade offer to allow consumers to upgrade to 4G device.

Samsung said Galaxy S5 4G will be available in Copper Gold, Charcoal Black and Shimmery White colour options — in India from July 20.

Samsung Launches Galaxy S5 4G Smartphone in India

Samsung Electronics introduced the 3G version of Galaxy S5 in India in April 2014.

Galaxy S5 4G features Qualcomm 8974 Pro 2.5 Ghz processor.

4G speeds matter

The company said Galaxy S5 4G can empower consumers to simultaneously download files by turning on the 4G and Wi-Fi together. For instance, using 8mbps 4G speed and 4mbps Wi-Fi speed, users can get up to 80-90 percent of combined 12mbps speeds of 4G and Wi-Fi.

Galaxy S5 is the world’s first smartphone with Wi-Fi MIMO. This means Wi-Fi 802.11ac and 2X2 MIMO (Multi-Input Multi-Output) technology equips Galaxy S5 with two internal Wi-Fi antennas to double the connection and accelerate the speed of Wi-Fi.

Currently, there are two telecom operators — Bharti Airtel and Aircel — are offering 4G services in select parts of the country. Airtel has smartphone bundle offers with Apple, Xolo and LG, besides Samsung. Aircel, which announced the launch of 4G in 4 telecom circles, is yet to announce any smartphone partnership.
