Beeline Kazakhstan Launches Starlink Direct-to-Mobile for 11.8 Million Customers
VEON’s Beeline Kazakhstan has become the first operator in Kazakhstan to launch Starlink Mobile, enabling customers to connect smartphones directly to satellites in areas without terrestrial mobile coverage. The service allows messaging and applications to operate in cellular dead zones without requiring a satellite phone, antenna or other specialized equipment. Initially offered free for customers to experience, the service is designed for remote locations, mountains, highways and areas affected by natural disasters or damaged infrastructure. Customers can activate and manage Starlink Mobile through Beeline Kazakhstan’s Janymda super app. The operator serves 11.8 million mobile customers and has been working with Starlink and Kazakhstan’s government on satellite-to-mobile deployment since signing a cooperation memorandum in 2025.
NTT DOCOMO BUSINESS and stc Launch Saudi IoT Solution
NTT DOCOMO BUSINESS and Saudi Arabia’s stc group have launched an IoT connectivity solution for Komatsu construction equipment operating in Saudi Arabia. The service supports Komatsu’s Komtrax telematics platform, which remotely collects equipment data to enable monitoring, analytics and predictive maintenance. NTT DOCOMO BUSINESS designed and delivers the solution end to end, while stc provides local connectivity, SIMs and its Connectivity Management Platform. The solution is structured to comply with Saudi Arabia’s telecommunications regulations while providing reliable and scalable connectivity across broad coverage areas. NTT DOCOMO BUSINESS said the partnership will support Komatsu’s connected-service expansion and its broader strategy of delivering compliant IoT connectivity internationally for construction equipment, automotive manufacturers and other connected-device applications.
Zain KSA Deploys Nokia Deepfield Across 100+ Saudi Cities
Zain KSA has deployed Nokia Deepfield Cloud Intelligence across its network covering more than 100 cities in Saudi Arabia. The technology provides real-time, end-to-end visibility into network traffic and performance, helping the operator identify issues more quickly, improve troubleshooting and strengthen service assurance. The deployment reflects growing operator demand for network intelligence as mobile traffic becomes more complex and data consumption increases. Nokia Deepfield is designed to provide actionable visibility across network infrastructure, supporting faster identification of performance problems and potentially improving customer experience. For Zain KSA, the deployment strengthens its ability to monitor network conditions across a large geographic footprint while supporting operational efficiency and more responsive management of increasingly data-intensive services.
