An Austrian broadband operator has partnered with Vecima Networks and local systems integrator Witke to modernize its broadband infrastructure using Vecima’s Entra virtualized CMTS and Remote PHY solutions. The deployment advances the operator’s Distributed Access Architecture (DAA) strategy and creates a future-ready pathway toward DOCSIS 4.0 services. By adopting the cloud-native platform, the operator aims to lower space, power, and cooling requirements while improving scalability and operational efficiency. The company selected Remote PHY over Remote MACPHY for greater flexibility and interoperability with third-party equipment, including Teleste devices. The upgraded network will also deliver enhanced automation, telemetry, and monitoring capabilities to support reliable broadband growth and improved customer experiences across its service footprint.

Bouygues Telecom has deployed Perion Network’s Outmax AI agent to optimize its digital advertising campaigns, delivering major gains in efficiency and sustainability. The AI-powered platform reduced customer acquisition costs by 34 percent during the operator’s Fiber-to-the-Home campaign while also lowering campaign carbon intensity by 51 percent. Integrated within Meta’s advertising ecosystem, Outmax continuously analyzed campaign performance and automatically adjusted spending and targeting strategies in real time to improve engagement and maximize results. Bouygues Telecom, serving more than 30 million customers across France, said the successful deployment supports its broader digital transformation and sustainability goals, with plans to extend the AI-driven advertising model across additional marketing channels and campaigns.
Airtel Rides 5G Wave to Profit Boom as Africa Business Powers Growth
Bharti Airtel reported a strong rise in quarterly profit as more users upgraded to premium 4G and 5G plans, while its Africa business delivered robust growth. The telecom operator’s consolidated pre-tax profit jumped 35.8 percent to ₹132.05 billion for the quarter ended March 31, supported by a 15.7 percent increase in total revenue to ₹553.83 billion. Airtel’s average revenue per user rose to ₹257, reflecting higher spending by subscribers and continued migration toward advanced mobile services. Revenue from Airtel Africa surged 40.9 percent, further strengthening the company’s global business outlook. Airtel also approved a major share-swap deal to increase its stake in Airtel Africa, signaling aggressive expansion plans amid intensifying competition with Reliance Jio.
