Record-Breaking 1.6Tbps Trial: Turk Telekom and ZTE Push Optical Network Speeds to New Heights

Turk Telekom and ZTE Corporation have completed the world’s first C+L full-band integrated 1.6Tbps live network trial in Istanbul, marking a major advancement in 5G all-optical network technology. The trial demonstrated ultra-high-capacity transmission capable of supporting 400GE and 800GE services while maximizing the use of existing fiber infrastructure. By integrating C-band and L-band through a unified system, the solution significantly improves network capacity, flexibility, and efficiency without requiring major hardware upgrades. The companies also introduced an intelligent optical network management system that enables real-time monitoring, fault detection, and optimized performance for next-generation telecom networks.

BTI Wireless Unveils Advanced DAS and 5G Small Cells to Power Next-Gen Networks

At the Mobile World Congress 2026, BTI Wireless showcased new Distributed Antenna System (DAS) and 5G small cell solutions designed to support open and flexible network architectures. The company introduced its high-power H3 DAS platform for large venues and the compact N3 Plus system that simplifies deployment with plug-and-play fiber-to-the-antenna technology. BTI also launched the nCELL-M4371, an integrated 5G small cell built on a 4nm platform to enable efficient 5G deployments for enterprise and private networks. Additionally, the new BBU T5100 baseband unit supports carrier aggregation and distributed 5G architectures, helping telecom operators enhance coverage and optimize network performance.

Big Relief Ahead? Vodafone Idea Licence Fee Dues May Drop Up to 65%

Vodafone Idea could receive major financial relief after India’s Department of Telecommunications (DoT) reassessed the telecom operator’s licence fee liabilities. Preliminary findings indicate that the company’s dues may decline by around 60–65 percent after recalculating penalties and interest components. The reassessment was carried out by Controller of Communication Accounts (CCA) offices across various telecom circles following government directions. The revised figures will now be reviewed by a committee headed by a retired IAS officer before a final decision is taken. The move is part of a broader government review of telecom operators adjusted gross revenue (AGR) related liabilities that have significantly impacted the sector.
