Today’s telecom news includes announcements on TRAI, USI, Beacon Communications, Airgain, among others.
TRAI Empowers Users with New Digital Tool to Control Promotional Messages
TRAI has launched a Digital Consent Acquisition (DCA) pilot to give customers direct control over promotional messages by allowing them to digitally review, modify or revoke consent for marketing SMS and calls. Selected users will receive messages from shortcode 127000 directing them to a secure portal where all past consents from banks and businesses can be managed. The initiative addresses long-standing issues caused by offline or inconsistent consent methods that users cannot currently track or withdraw, creating a more transparent and standardised system in collaboration with RBI, major banks and telecom operators.
USI Unveils Breakthrough Packaging Tech That Slashes Costs and Development Time
USI has introduced an advanced packaging method that integrates Vacuum Printing Encapsulation (VPE) with high-aspect-ratio Copper Pillar Transfer Technology to strengthen next-generation system-in-package (SiP) applications. Developed over three years of R&D, the technology is already used in capsule endoscopes, high-thermal-efficiency PMU modules for mobile devices, and RF power-amplifier modules for telecom. The process cuts development time by up to 90 percent and reduces module costs by around 30 percent, while allowing the use of lower-cost FR4 PCBs instead of BT substrates. Its low-pressure, room-temperature process also protects sensitive components such as MEMS and fine copper pillars, supporting more efficient and flexible product development.
Beacon Unveils High-Tech Cabling Upgrade to Power Next-Gen Connectivity
Beacon Communications has expanded its portfolio by launching structured-cabling solutions, strengthening its ability to deliver end-to-end communication infrastructure across healthcare, education, government, commercial, energy and utility sectors. The company is investing in advanced copper and fiber-optic capabilities, covering design, installation and certification to support voice, data, video, security and AV systems. This upgrade enhances customer focus by offering a single, reliable provider for integrated communication and building-technology needs. Clients gain improved network performance, stronger system scalability and better support for modern digital and IoT-driven applications.
Airgain’s Game-Changing Move: Lightning-Fast 5G Now Within Reach for U.S. Enterprises
Airgain has formed its first U.S. commercial-integrator partnership to accelerate deployments of its Lighthouse Smart 5G NCR across more than 2,000 qualified enterprise and commercial sites.
