Subex Wins $5 Million Five-Year APAC Telecom Contract
Subex has secured a five-year contract worth $5 million, or about ₹47 crore, from a major Asia-Pacific mobile operator, strengthening its long-term telecom software order visibility. The contract follows the company’s Q1 FY27 performance, when consolidated revenue rose 19.6 percent year over year to ₹79.45 crore and net profit increased 11 percent to ₹14.22 crore. The new deal adds to Subex recent international contract wins and strengthens its order visibility. The five-year agreement provides a more predictable revenue stream as operators invest in network modernization and automation. The deal also supports Subex’s recurring software-services strategy and provides greater visibility into future telecom technology revenue.
Avantel Lands ₹177.35 Crore Satellite Communications Order
Avantel has received a ₹177.35 crore purchase order from Zetwerk Manufacturing Businesses for the supply of satellite communication equipment. The domestic order, placed under an earlier rate contract, includes a one-year comprehensive onsite warranty and is scheduled for completion by March 2027. Avantel said the order is not a related-party transaction and that neither its promoter nor promoter group has an interest in Zetwerk. The latest contract follows a ₹117.88 crore order from the Ministry of Defence in August for development of a DRDO ground-segment hub, adding to its recent defense and satellite communications business. Avantel’s portfolio includes satellite communications, HF communications, electronic warfare and radar systems for strategic customers.
SoftBank and Sceye Complete World-First Laser Tracking Test for HAPS Connectivity
SoftBank has completed what the companies describe as the world’s first ground-based laser-ranging demonstration tracking a High Altitude Platform System in the stratosphere, using Sceye’s HAPS platform. The experiment took place during Sceye’s month-long ST1 flight and involved Hitotsubashi University and Japan’s National Institute of Polar Research. SoftBank’s ground station continuously tracked the moving platform and received reflected laser signals in real time. The achievement advances development of free-space optical communications connecting terrestrial networks, HAPS and satellites. Optical links could eventually provide substantially higher capacity than conventional radio-based links, supporting HAPS backhaul and integrated terrestrial/non-terrestrial networks as operators develop future 5G-Advanced and 6G architectures. WhiteFiber Links Data Centers 83 km Apart with 136 Tbps AI Network
WhiteFiber has launched Continuum, a cross-data-center network connecting two QTS facilities located 83 kilometres apart into a single logical GPU supercluster. The sites are connected through 12 Zayo dark-fiber strands, with DriveNets supplying the Ethernet-based AI network fabric and WEKA providing the data infrastructure. WhiteFiber says the architecture delivers 136 Tbps of bandwidth with guaranteed 0.9-millisecond round-trip latency. The system is designed to allow telecom and metro facilities with available fiber and power capacity to participate in distributed AI infrastructure rather than operate as isolated sites. The architecture could also support last-mile inference and distributed AI workloads while improving utilisation of existing metro and telecom fiber assets.
