Huawei Unveils AI-Powered Next-Generation FAN to Boost Wi-Fi 7 and Smart Broadband Networks

At Mobile World Congress 2026 in Barcelona, Huawei launched its Next Generation FAN (Fiber Access Network) solution aimed at helping internet service providers upgrade broadband networks and service capabilities. The AI-driven, all-optical solution integrates device, edge, and cloud technologies to enhance connectivity, service intelligence, and network management. It supports Wi-Fi 7 speeds exceeding 2,000 Mbps through Huawei’s OptiXstar EG series ONTs, enabling seamless whole-home coverage for high-bandwidth applications such as cloud gaming and 8K streaming. 

Future-Proofing Telecom Security: QuSecure Unveils Post-Quantum TLS Path for Legacy Networks

At Mobile World Congress 2026, QuSecure presented a case study showing how a Tier-1 telecom operator can implement post-quantum secure communications without modifying existing legacy applications. The solution upgrades networks to TLS 1.3 using hybrid post-quantum key exchange that combines traditional encryption with algorithms recommended by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). Developed with support from Accenture, the approach uses a gateway proxy-based cryptographic service mesh to secure communications at the network layer. 

Turk Telekom and Ericsson Join Forces to Power Turkiye’s 6G Future

Turk Telekom and Ericsson have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate on advancing 6G research and innovation in Türkiye. The agreement, announced during Mobile World Congress 2026 in Barcelona, focuses on joint research projects, international R&D initiatives, and scientific studies aimed at shaping future 6G technologies. Both companies will work together on developing advanced connectivity solutions and contributing to emerging global 6G standards.
