Mixx Develops Fiber Connector Supporting 24,576 Fibers per Rack Unit

Mixx Technologies has introduced its SxC optical connector targeting high-density AI and advanced network infrastructure. The connector can terminate as many as 24,576 fibers in a single rack unit, addressing the rapidly rising optical connectivity requirements created by large AI computing clusters. Mixx argues that higher-radix network architectures can reduce the number of switching layers required between computing nodes, lowering latency, aggregate power consumption and the number of switches, transceivers and cables needed within infrastructure. The technology is designed for front-plane and backplane applications and forms part of the company’s HBxIO platform. As networking architectures move toward near-package and co-packaged optics, conventional front-panel connectors can become a bandwidth bottleneck. Mixx is targeting multi-petabit connectivity and emerging 400T-class switching infrastructure.

Truvista Fiber Extends Managed Wi-Fi Networks Outdoors

Truvista Fiber is extending broadband connectivity beyond buildings through its Managed Wi-Fi Plus Outdoor service, addressing growing consumer and business demand for continuous wireless coverage. The service uses outdoor networking equipment to extend Wi-Fi into yards and other exterior areas while remaining integrated with the customer’s managed broadband environment. The development reflects an important change in fixed broadband competition: operators increasingly need to manage the entire customer connectivity experience rather than simply deliver fiber to the premises. Managed Wi-Fi can give operators greater visibility into home-network performance, device connectivity and coverage problems while potentially reducing support calls. Outdoor extensions add another layer to that strategy as households connect cameras, smart-home equipment and other devices beyond the traditional indoor Wi-Fi footprint.

ElektraFi Combines Fixed Wireless and Fiber for Rural Broadband Expansion

ElektraFi is expanding rural broadband infrastructure using a hybrid strategy combining next-generation fixed wireless connectivity with fiber. The operator is targeting communities where relying exclusively on fiber-to-the-home construction can make broadband deployment expensive or slow. Fixed wireless can accelerate initial network coverage while fiber provides higher-capacity infrastructure for locations where deployment economics justify construction. The model reflects a broader telecom industry trend toward technology-neutral rural broadband architectures rather than treating fiber and wireless as competing platforms. Hybrid networks can allow operators to expand coverage faster, improve backhaul capacity and progressively migrate high-demand locations toward fiber. ElektraFi’s expansion also illustrates how smaller regional providers are using a combination of fiber infrastructure and modern wireless technology to address connectivity gaps outside major metropolitan markets.
