Midwest Fiber Partners Plan 1,200-Mile Network Linking Four Major Markets
Midwest Fiber Networks and Midwest Fiberpath are working with Hawkeye Land Co. on approximately 1,200 miles of strategic fiber corridors connecting Chicago, Omaha, Minneapolis and Kansas City. The project is intended to provide scalable long-haul infrastructure supporting growing requirements for resilient, high-capacity connectivity across the U.S. Midwest. The network is being designed around managed rights-of-way supporting blank conduit, dense fiber deployments, route diversity and future network expansion. Engineering and materials procurement are already at advanced stages, with material shipments scheduled before the end of 2026. Construction is expected to start in spring 2027. The corridor could become important infrastructure for telecom operators, enterprises, data centers and AI computing facilities seeking alternative fiber routes between major Midwest technology and business markets.
Forward Expands Network Digital Twin Access for Autonomous Network Operations
Forward has opened 30-day free access to Forward Enterprise, its network digital-twin platform aimed at helping network, cloud and security teams model production infrastructure before implementing changes. The technology creates a mathematically accurate representation of network behavior across data centers, enterprise networks and cloud environments. Forward AI allows engineers to query network infrastructure using natural language and receive answers verified against network configuration and behavior. The platform can also identify which network assets are actually exposed to newly discovered vulnerabilities, helping teams prioritize remediation. Digital twins are becoming increasingly relevant as telecom and enterprise networks move toward AI-assisted and autonomous operations. Forward, founded in 2013, says its technology is already used in complex Fortune 500 environments and is designed to reduce reliance on manual configuration analysis.
QA Cafe Automates Long-Term Reliability Testing for Broadband and Wi-Fi Networks QA Cafe has introduced the CDRouter Stability and Memory Expansion, an automated testing system designed to identify reliability problems in broadband gateways and Wi-Fi routers before equipment is deployed to customers. Conventional performance tests can miss issues that emerge only after devices operate continuously for days or weeks. QA Cafe says problems including memory leaks, CPU exhaustion and resource fragmentation can progressively reduce throughput, trigger failed network functions or cause unexpected router reboots. The new platform automates extended “soak testing,” allowing broadband equipment vendors and service providers to evaluate long-term stability under realistic network conditions. Such testing is becoming increasingly important as broadband gateways handle more Wi-Fi devices, applications and traffic while operators seek to reduce customer-support calls, equipment replacements and expensive technician visits.
