Elveo Mobile Emerges as New Global Satellite-to-Device Powerhouse

Lynk Global and Omnispace have completed their merger and launched Elveo Mobile, a new satellite connectivity company focused on direct-to-device services. Elveo will provide connectivity directly from satellites to existing smartphones, IoT devices and machines across multiple frequency bands, without requiring specialized hardware. The company combines licensed spectrum rights, multi-band satellite technology and advanced onboard processing to support voice, data, 5G and non-terrestrial network services. Elveo already has commercial agreements with more than 50 mobile network operators and distribution partners across more than 60 countries. The merger closed on August 14, positioning Elveo as a major new player in the rapidly developing global satellite-to-mobile connectivity market.

Hybrid Network Technology Targets Critical Connectivity Gaps

Cybertel Bridge has introduced a hybrid communications architecture designed to maintain connectivity for critical infrastructure teams when broadband coverage becomes weak or unavailable. Its LM75 platform integrates 5G/LTE, 450 MHz connectivity and DMR Tier II, enabling automatic switching between broadband Mission Critical Services and DMR Direct Mode Operation. The system is designed for challenging environments including buildings, underground facilities and remote sites, where localized coverage gaps can disrupt operations. The company said the architecture can automatically manage communication continuity as network conditions change, reducing the need for field personnel to switch modes manually. The technology targets public safety, transportation, utilities and other mission-critical sectors that require reliable communications during network disruptions and emergencies.

Deutsche Telekom Bets €1 Billion on Poland’s Fiber Expansion

Deutsche Telekom has agreed to acquire Polish network operator Fiberhost and retail broadband and television provider Inea from Macquarie Asset Management for €1 billion. The transaction will advance T-Mobile Polska’s transformation from a mobile-only operator into a fully converged telecommunications provider offering both mobile and fixed connectivity. The deal remains subject to customary Polish competition approvals, with financial closing expected by the end of 2026. Deutsche Telekom said the acquisition will add more than 300,000 Inea customers and Fiberhost’s fiber network, which passes more than 1.4 million homes. The transaction strengthens T-Mobile Polska’s fixed broadband position and expands Deutsche Telekom’s fiber infrastructure in Poland, supporting its strategy to broaden connectivity services beyond mobile communications.
