Pakistan Goes Green: Jazz & Huawei Power 1,000 Solar Telecom Sites

Pakistan’s leading connectivity provider Jazz has rolled out solar power systems across 1,000 telecom sites nationwide in partnership with Huawei, marking one of the largest renewable energy projects in the country’s telecom sector. The installations have a total capacity of 13 MW and are expected to generate around 11 GWh of clean energy annually, reducing carbon emissions by approximately 15,000 tons per year while lowering dependence on fuel‑based power. The project leverages Huawei’s integrated green site solutions, which combine solar panels, battery storage, and intelligent energy management to improve reliability and energy efficiency. This initiative also enhances connectivity in underserved areas and supports Pakistan’s transition toward sustainable telecom infrastructure.

60mn Opportunities: Telecom Giants Turn to MSMEs for Next Big Growth

India’s telecom sector is grappling with slowing revenue growth as market saturation and stable Average Revenue Per User (ARPU) of around ₹180–200 limit expansion despite heavy 5G investments. With a subscriber base exceeding 1.17 billion, telcos have little room to grow through new users. To counter this, companies are targeting nearly 60 million MSMEs as a key growth avenue. By offering value-added digital services such as cloud computing, digital storefronts, and targeted advertising, telecom operators aim to diversify revenue streams and strengthen enterprise engagement, tapping into a large but relatively underpenetrated business segment.

Breaking Speed Barriers: ZTE Propels MiFibra into the 10G Broadband Future

ZTE has partnered with Peruvian ISP MiFibra to deploy 10G PON technology, marking a significant move toward next-generation broadband. The upgrade enables MiFibra to enhance its offerings from 1 Gbps to 2 Gbps and introduce premium 5 Gbps plans, improving connectivity for over 20,000 subscribers. By integrating ZTE’s cloud platform and Wi-Fi 6 solutions, the network delivers high-speed, low-latency performance suited for data-intensive applications such as 8K streaming and virtual reality. The expansion also strengthens MiFibra’s footprint in Lima, supporting its growth in the competitive broadband market.
