GBI Selects Nokia to Build New Network for Faster, More Resilient Middle East Connectivity

Gulf Bridge International (GBI) has chosen Nokia to build a next-generation optical and IP network across the Middle East, aimed at boosting speed, reliability, and scalability. The investment enhances GBI’s regional and global connectivity, supporting growing demand for cloud, data center, and digital services. Nokia’s advanced optical transport and routing technologies will deliver low-latency, high-capacity links, improving network efficiency and resilience. This innovation enables GBI to offer faster data transfer and robust connectivity for telecom operators, enterprises, and governments. Customers will benefit from improved performance and reduced downtime, while the project supports the region’s digital transformation and economic growth by strengthening critical communication infrastructure.

Mozambique Accelerates Telecom Expansion in Rural Areas

Mozambique is ramping up efforts to expand telecom services in rural regions to boost digital inclusion and socio-economic development. The initiative, led by the National Communications Institute (INCM), focuses on improving mobile connectivity, internet access, and digital literacy in underserved communities. Investments are being directed toward building telecom towers, upgrading broadband infrastructure, and encouraging private sector participation. This expansion aims to enhance access to essential services such as education, healthcare, and e-governance.

AT&T Accelerates Deployment of EchoStar Spectrum to Strengthen 5G Network

AT&T has begun deploying spectrum acquired from EchoStar to expand its 5G network capacity and improve coverage across the U.S. The integration of EchoStar’s mid-band frequencies is part of AT&T’s strategic network expansion plan, aimed at delivering higher data speeds, lower latency, and improved reliability for consumers and enterprise customers. This investment supports next-generation applications, including IoT, AI-enabled services, and private 5G networks.

Operator Revenue from Network APIs to Reach $4.9 Billion by 2030: Juniper Research

A study by Juniper Research predicts that operator revenue from authentication and fraud prevention network APIs will surge from $252 million in 2025 to $4.9 billion by 2030. The report highlights that fraud prevention APIs will dominate the short term, accounting for about 90 percent of network API revenue in 2025, according to Alex Webb, Senior Research Analyst at Juniper Research. Beyond fraud prevention, the study points to strong monetisation potential in the cellular IoT sector, where network APIs offer enterprises improved control and visibility over IoT device connectivity and status. Operators are encouraged to leverage location verification and retrieval APIs for asset and vehicle tracking, positioning these as complementary tools to enhance the accuracy of existing systems like GNSS.
