A primary highlight of the exchange was Angola sharing its operational lessons from Angosat-2, providing Mozambique with critical insights into satellite service regulation, licensing, and infrastructure scaling. Discussions also prioritized universal network coverage, the security of telecom systems, and the implementation of national postal addressing, marking a significant step in aligning regional standards to support a more competitive and technologically advanced market.

Ericsson Unveils AI-Powered “Future-Proof” RAN to Revolutionize 5G Connectivity

Ericsson has launched a comprehensive suite of AI-enabled Radio Access Network (RAN) solutions designed to meet the rising demands of AI and Augmented Reality (AR) applications. The portfolio features ten next-generation radios equipped with built-in neural network accelerators, which significantly enhance uplink performance and spectral efficiency. Key hardware includes the high-power AIR 3286 and AIR 3211, alongside five energy-efficient antennas that simplify site design. Complementing the hardware is new AI-powered RAN software featuring tools like the Latency Prioritized Scheduler, which delivers up to seven times faster response times to ensure the ultra-low latency required for modern AI devices.

Vodafone and Nokia Join Forces to Shield 5G Users from Digital Fraud

Vodafone and Nokia have announced an expanded collaboration to enhance global cybersecurity by integrating Vodafone’s Network APIs into Nokia’s Network as Code platform. Scheduled for launch in April 2026, this partnership provides developers with standardized tools to build more secure applications for banking, shopping, and identity verification. By utilizing Vodafone’s 4G and 5G networks, the initiative allows developers to implement real time anti-fraud features such as age verification and SIM swap checks across multiple countries without needing separate software versions.

Iraq’s Digital Leap: Nokia and T964 Strike Major Infrastructure Deal

Nokia has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Iraqi investment group T964 to significantly modernize Iraq’s telecommunications and digital infrastructure. Announced at the Datacloud Middle East event in Dubai, the partnership focuses on deploying advanced connectivity solutions, including enterprise networks, data centers, and fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) services. By closing existing infrastructure gaps, the collaboration aims to support the growing domestic demand for digital banking, e-government services, and cloud adoption. Furthermore, the initiative seeks to establish Iraq as a critical regional data corridor linking the Gulf, Turkey, and Europe, positioning the nation as a strategic hub for international data transit and large-scale digital transformation.
