Comtech Accelerates Satellite Innovation with First DCG-7000 Modem Delivery to Lite Coms

Comtech Telecommunications has delivered its first DCG-7000 high-speed, small form-factor modems to Lite Coms for industry testing, marking a significant advancement in its satellite communications portfolio. The software-defined DCG-7000 modems are being integrated with Lite Coms’ antenna systems to assess interoperability and performance across diverse ground terminal configurations, with Lite Coms becoming the first to test a production unit. Designed for secure and resilient connectivity, the compact modems support multi-orbit operations, flexible waveforms including DVB-S2X, and integrated transmission security, targeting next-generation government and commercial satellite communication needs.

Jio’s Big AI Bet: Aiming to Lead the Global Token Economy

Reliance Jio is positioning itself as an early global leader in scalable token services by embedding artificial intelligence into its telecom ecosystem, Jio Platforms CEO Mathew Oommen said at Mobile World Congress 2026 in Barcelona, Spain. He described the AI wave as a structural reset for the telecom sector, shifting revenue models from traditional voice and data usage to AI-driven token economics. Rather than remaining a basic connectivity provider, Jio aims to play a central role in token generation and tokenomics. Leveraging its vast subscriber base and cost-efficient infrastructure, the company plans to deliver competitive AI-powered services at scale.

Chunghwa Telecom & Ericsson to Supercharge 5G-Advanced and Ignite the 6G Future

Chunghwa Telecom and Ericsson have signed a 5G-Advanced and AI Intelligent Network Memorandum of Understanding at Mobile World Congress 2026, strengthening their long-standing partnership to accelerate next-generation connectivity. The agreement centers on commercializing 5G-Advanced services, enhancing AI-driven Radio Access Network (AI-RAN) capabilities, and paving the way for 6G evolution. Both companies will collaborate on advanced technologies such as Low Latency, Low Loss, Scalable Throughput (L4S) and Ultra-Reliable Low Latency Communications (URLLC), targeting high-performance applications including cloud gaming and immersive AR/VR, while boosting network intelligence, automation, and operational efficiency.
