Fiber Fast Lane: Brightspeed Nears Completion of Massive New Jersey Fiber Expansion
Brightspeed is nearing completion of its large-scale fiber broadband rollout in New Jersey, with multi-gig internet services now available to more than 78,000 homes and businesses statewide. The company said nearly 85 percent of the planned network expansion has been completed, while construction continues for an additional 14,300 locations. Fiber deployment has already been finalized in several communities, including Bloomsbury, Frenchtown, and High Bridge, helping improve broadband access in underserved and rural areas. Brightspeed said the upgraded fiber infrastructure is built to support increasing demand for cloud applications, remote work, streaming, telehealth, and AI-driven digital services, while also strengthening long-term regional connectivity and economic growth opportunities.
Digital Boost for Rural Florida: Xfinity Brings Multi-Gig Internet to Lake County
Comcast is expanding its Xfinity broadband network into underserved areas of Lake County, Florida, bringing multi-gigabit symmetrical internet access to more than 2,900 homes and businesses for the first time. Construction is set to begin this summer as part of Comcast’s broader investment in rural connectivity across Florida. The expansion will provide residents and businesses with access to high-speed internet, mobile, streaming, voice, and smart home services through the Xfinity platform. Comcast said the project aims to improve access to remote work, online education, healthcare, and digital services in previously unserved communities. The initiative also strengthens the company’s ongoing effort to expand reliable broadband infrastructure across growing and rural regions in the state.
South Texas Internet Speeds Hit the Fast Lane with TX Fiber’s 10G Rollout
TX Fiber has launched a next-generation fiber broadband network across South Texas using Vecima Networks’ Entra XGS-PON platform, bringing symmetrical multi-gigabit internet speeds to homes and businesses in the Rio Grande Valley. The deployment makes TX Fiber one of the first independent providers in the region to offer 10 Gbps-capable services, targeting growing demand from remote work, telehealth, AI-driven applications, and 5G backhaul. The rollout includes Vecima’s cloud-managed vPON Manager, EXS1610 optical line terminal, and open ecosystem architecture designed to avoid vendor lock-in. TX Fiber plans further expansion across South Texas through 2026 and 2027, aiming to narrow the broadband gap between underserved communities and major U.S. metro areas.
