McAfee has teamed up with Nippon Telegraph and Telephone
East to provide technology to create a mobile security application that will be
used on the Hikari iFrame tablet.
This security technology is based on McAfee Mobile
Security software, a mobile security suite that combines anti-malware,
anti-theft and Web safety features.
Hikari iFrame
is Nippon Telegraph and Telephone East’s original tablet device. The mobile
security applications are designed to protect Hikari iFrame users from malware
threats and illicit websites that try to steal personal and sensitive
information. The service can be downloaded, starting this month, from the
FLET’s Market” when the consumer sets up their device.
The popularity of mobile devices, such as smartphones,
tablets and information terminals like the Hikari iFrame, continues to
increase. We’re pleased to provide technical cooperation to NTT East to protect
Hikari iFrame users. With security technology based on McAfee Mobile Security,
Hikari iFrame users will be protected from malware and malicious websites,
helping them to safely browse the Web,” said Jean-Claude Broido, president of
McAfee Japan.
McAfee protects more than 150 million mobile devices
worldwide with its services ranging from consumer to enterprise solutions.
McAfee remains committed to developing and providing a wide range of
technologies designed to protect mobile users from threats that are growing in
number and severity.
Recently, McAfee announced
that the McAfee Safe Eyes Mobile App, a filtered browser that helps parents
manage children’s Internet use on the Apple iPhone, iPad and iTouch, has earned
top honors in the Mom’s Choice Awards for family-friendly products with a gold
award from Mom’s Choice panel of judges. The browser was also recently
recognized by Parents.com as one of the best apps to prevent cyberbullying.
