ZTE and PCS Wireless sign distribution sgreement

By Telecom Lead Team: PCS
Wireless, a global leader in open market distribution, announced its
distribution agreement with ZTE USA. The agreement will enable PCS to stock and
distribute a range of ZTE’s devices targeted towards United States and Canadian
carrier customers.

The agreement will provide a reliable supply and
selection of innovative phones manufactured by ZTE for regional carrier
partners of PCS Wireless.

The selection will range from feature phones to Android
Smartphones compatible with both CDMA and GSM bands. This will allow carriers
to offer their customers a greater variety of phones from a dependable supply
chain, in turn increasing their competitiveness in the marketplace.

“This agreement with ZTE begins a new chapter for
PCS by expanding our open market distribution activities into regional
carriers. Outside of a select number of carriers, access to customized devices
for regional carriers has been very fragmented. ZTE’s innovative portfolio of
devices combined with our value-added services offers regional carriers a
solution from proven industry leaders,” said Ben Nash, CEO, PCS Wireless.

Carriers will be able to work with PCS Wireless and ZTE
to develop mobile phones customized to their own markets and with their own
brand identity, from custom flash screens to retail packaging.  In
alignment with PCS Wireless’s asset recovery solutions the carriers will also
have an end-to-end product life cycle solution.

“We look forward to our partnership with PCS
Wireless as they are strategic to our continued growth and channel development
in North America.  ZTE is one of the fastest growing mobile phone
manufactures worldwide, currently ranked 4th, and partnering with PCS Wireless,
a leader in open market distribution, is a move in the right direction to
continue and grow the success for ZTE USA, PCS Wireless and their carrier
partners,” stated Jon Parrette, senior vice president, ZTE USA.
