Riverbed leads in Asia Pacific in WAN acceleration category

Riverbed Technologies announced that it is number one in Asia Pacific market
share ranking for 2010 based on revenue.

Riverbed remained the dominant player in the APAC WAN
optimization market in 2010, extending its market share lead in the WAN
acceleration category significantly over the other market players,” said Cathy
Huang, industry analyst at Frost & Sullivan.

Riverbed continued to raise the bar in the technology
segment, be it from a technology play perspective, or their go-to-market
strategy. On the technology front, Riverbed remained highly sought after for
multi-site WAN optimization deployments, thanks to the plug-and-play capabilities.

Moreover, the best-in-class application acceleration
capabilities associated with Riverbed’s technology meant that it was often the
vendor of choice for APAC enterprises when it came to solving their network lag
and application latency problems.

Riverbed WAN
optimization solutions enable organizations of all sizes to overcome a wide
range of IT infrastructure performance bottlenecks, including poor application
performance, slow database backups and insufficient bandwidth at remote sites.

By speeding applications between data
centers, remote offices and mobile workers, in some cases by up to 100 times,
Riverbed Steelhead appliances eliminate the performance barrier for those looking
to adopt a cloud-oriented IT delivery model.

Growing enterprise adoption of strategic initiatives
such as virtualization, consolidation, cloud computing and disaster recovery
continues to be a key factor driving customer adoption of Riverbed WAN
optimization solutions in the Asia Pacific region and around the world,” said
John Higgs, senior vice president of Sales, Asia Pacific & Japan at
Riverbed.

This recognition from Frost & Sullivan is validation
that Riverbed continues to provide customers with innovative IT performance and
network visibility solutions that offer simple deployment, flexibility and
increased scalability that aligns with the changing business needs of
organizations and improves the bottom line,” Higgs added.
