Comcast announced that Rebecca Arbogast will join Comcast
as vice president for Global Public Policy. Arbogast currently serves as a
managing director at Stifel Financial where she focuses on legal and regulatory
issues affecting communications, media, and technology industries.
As vice president for Global Public Policy, Arbogast will
oversee the development and coordination of the company’s public policy efforts
across the corporation. Arbogast will be located in Comcast’s government
affairs office in Washington, DC and will report to Kyle McSlarrow, president
of Comcast/NBCUniversal for Washington, DC.

president of Comcast.
She joined the Stifel Nicolaus Research Team in 2005 when
Legg Mason’s Capital Markets Group was acquired by Stifel. Arbogast joined Legg
Mason in 2001 from the FCC. At the FCC, she served as chief of the
International Bureau Telecommunications Division.
Prior to joining the FCC in 1997, she served in the
Office of Legal Counsel of the U.S. Department of Justice, and began her legal
career as a corporate attorney with Wilmer, Cutler and Pickering.
Comcast recently announced that it is expanding
the carriage of eight Hispanic networks by 14 million total subscribers.
Among the public commitments made as part of Comcast’s
acquisition of NBCUniversal was an agreement to increase the distribution of at
least three networks that are American Latino-owned or -controlled or target
the Latino community by at least 10 million digital basic subscribers within
six months after the deal closed on January 28.
