Polycom opens unified communications solution center in Korea

Polycom has set up a new unified communications solution
and video collaboration solution center in Seoul, Korea.

The center will provide customers in Korea the
opportunity to experience benefits of face-to-face collaboration across
Polycom’s UC solutions, from the Polycom RealPresence Platform to HD video and
HD Voice solutions for mobile tablets, offices/desktops, meeting rooms, and
immersive telepresence.

Polycom’s revenue in Asia Pacific grew 41 percent
year-over-year during the third quarter of 2011. The new solution center
further expands Polycom’s presence in Korea, and is the newest addition to
Polycom’s network of solution centers around the world, which continues to
expand with recent openings in Sydney, Hong Kong, India, and Russia.

In addition, the solution center will showcase the power
of the Polycom RealPresence Platform. The Polycom RealPresence Platform
delivers universal bridging software that supports up to 75,000 device
registrations and 25,000 concurrent calls/sessions, and includes universal
video collaboration, video resource management, virtualization management,
universal access and security, and video content management.

“This solutions center has been designed with
customers at the forefront, enabling us to immerse current and prospective
customers in the Polycom experience and help them understand how our innovation
in open standards-based UC applications, specifically in the areas of mobility,
cloud delivered video services, business-to-business interoperability, next
generation executive desktop products, and affordable SMB solutions, can
transform their business or organization,” said Dae-Jun Shin, country
manager of Polycom Korea.
