iPass Mobile Network claims over a million premium Wi-Fi Hotspots

Telecom Lead America: iPass, a provider of mobility
services for enterprises and service providers, announced that its iPass
Mobile Network has surpassed one million premium, commercial Wi-Fi hotspots
worldwide.

These hotspots are being used by iPass’s enterprise
customers through the iPass Open Mobile platform. Additionally, telecom
operators can utilize these hotspots through the iPass Open Mobile
Exchange to offer their subscribers the ability to roam without fear of
bill shock and high data roaming costs.

Evan Kaplan, president and CEO at iPass said there is a
momentous change happening in how we interact and communicate in this
increasingly real-time connected world where devices are cheap and networks are
expensive.

The company claims that it is the market maker at the
core of global Wi-Fi disruption by providing both enterprise and telecom
operators with interconnect and access to this fragmented but universal
network.

The iPass Mobile Network is the world’s largest
commercial Wi-Fi network and trusted connectivity platform with over 56,000
hotels, 2,618 airports, thousands of daily flights and over 61,000 free Wi-Fi
hotspots.

The iPass Mobile Network provides aggregated access
to over a million hotspots to enterprise customers by using a single login
based on the user’s existing corporate credentials.

The iPass Open Mobile Exchange enables telecom
service providers and Wi-Fi network operators to forge direct and bilateral
network agreements in order to reduce costs, gain operational efficiencies and
drive market growth.

iPass Wi-Fi footprint grows in India with Spectranet

Last month, iPass expanded the iPass Mobile Network in
India with Spectranet, a provider of wireless broadband with Wi-Fi coverage in
key locations within ten major Indian municipalities.
