Huawei India CEO welcomes national telecom policy 2012

Telecom
Lead India
: Chinese telecom equipment maker Huawei has welcomed the
National Telecom Policy 2012.

Huawei
said NTP 2012 is another path breaking development aimed to fuel the broadband
growth in India.

The
policy is far sighted and would revolutionize the telecom industry by
transforming the mobile device from a mere communication instrument to an
instrument of empowerment. The policy aims to enrich the common man’s life
through communication by targeting 100 percent rural penetration and 600
million broadband connections by 2020. We further support the policy guidelines
which talk of fiber connectivity to the village panchayat levels, thus bringing
in the benefits of technology at the grass root levels,” said Cai Liqun, CEO, Huawei
India.

We
are also encouraged by the proposed policy to rededicate our efforts in India
by being a strong local player with our software development facilities
established in Bangalore 12 years ago and our manufacturing activities that
commenced last year,” Liqun added.

The
NTP 2012 is in line with Huawei’s corporate policy of leveraging local talent
and building competence centers such as Global technical services resource
center as well as Global bidding and solutions center in India. This is in
addition to the local R&D, manufacturing and Network Operation Centers
created already.

According
to Huawei India CEO, being a leading global end to end ICT solutions provider,
our aim continues to serve our customers by offering state of the art technology
at affordable prices, thus creating maximum value to operators, enterprises and
end consumers.
