hike messenger to double growth after $14 mn funding from BSB

BSB, a joint venture between Bharti and SoftBank, has invested $14 million in hike messenger, a mobile messaging app.

The additional investment comes after hike, a free cross-platform messaging app, crossed the 15 million user mark.

Kavin Bharti Mittal, creator, hike messenger, said: “We’ve been growing faster than ever; tripling our user base to 15M in just 9 months.”

hike messenger will utilize the new round of funding to double growth and further expand team.

There are still less than 100 million active mobile internet users in India, out of a population of 1.2 billion people. Over 80 percent of the app’s users are under the age of 25 and majority of its users are from India.
