Enterasys Networks leads in network access control

Enterasys Networks, a Siemens Enterprise Communications
company, and  global provider of wired and wireless network infrastructure
and security solutions announced that it has been named a leader in the June
2011 report: The Forrester Wave: Network Access Control (NAC), Q2 2011.

This third-party research is further validation that
Enterasys NAC provides customers with leading unified protection for wired and
wireless heterogeneous infrastructures, including advanced guest services
provided at no extra cost. Enterasys NAC was recognized in Forrester’s
72-criteria evaluation of NAC vendors for its integration with network
infrastructure.

“Enterasys has a proven presence in the marketplace
delivering secure networking solutions.  Unlike competitive offerings, our
security functionality is deeply integrated into the networking workflows and
has been providing reliability and confidence to thousands of customers
worldwide,” said Chris Crowell, president and CEO at Enterasys Networks.

Enterasys NAC
solution provides easy guest access control, unified protection for the wired
and wireless edge in heterogeneous infrastructures, and is unsurpassed in its range
of policy options for control, virtualization flexibility, and anytime,
anywhere management.

Forrester also observed, “Enterasys has a rich road
map and strategy ahead to develop NAC technology.” Some of the future road map
items include more deployment modes, integration with IT and security
management systems, and application control.

Today Enterasys NAC technology, integrated with Enterasys
Network Management (NMS), is delivering new automation capabilities and
increased visibility solving IT pain points such as managing virtualized
servers or real – time update for configuration management database (CMDB)
services.

The latest version of Enterasys NAC provides additional
device-type granularity for management and security in corporate Bring Your Own
Device (BYOD) environments.  Distinguishing iPhones, iPads, BlackBerry,
Android or Windows devices, IT can easily assign user-owned devices different
network access than managed devices.
