Telecom Lead Asia: Comtech Telecommunications’ subsidiary
Comtech EF Data has bagged a $1.7 million equipment order from an Asian mobile
network operator.
Under the contract, Comtech will be providing modems and
RF oroducts along with and RAN optimization via its subsidiary, Memotec.
The Asian operator will deploy Comtech EF Data’s CDM-625
Advanced Satellite Modems and Memotec’s CX-U Series RAN Optimization to support
the upgrade and expansion of a satellite-based mobile backhaul network.
By leveraging our best in class optimization
technologies, this mobile network operator can facilitate a sustainable and
profitable network expansion,” said Fred Kornberg, president and chief
executive officer of Comtech Telecommunications Corp.
Combining, forward error correction with
DoubleTalk Carrier-in-Carrier bandwidth compression, the CDM-625
Advanced Satellite Modem allow for maximum savings under all conditions.
Based on Adaptive Cancellation technology, the DoubleTalk Carrier-in-Carrier
allows transmit and receive carriers of a duplex link to share the same
transponder space.
The combination of advanced technologies enables users to
minimize OPEX/CAPEX and maximize throughput/availability without using
additional transponder resources.
On the other hand, the CX-U Series combines a flexible
access device and mobile backhaul traffic optimization that offers an array of
backhaul interfaces and transmission options.
The company claims that the combination of the CDM-625 Advanced
Satellite Modem with DoubleTalk Carrier-in-Carrier and the CX-U
Series RAN Optimization deliver significant OPEX savings for customers with no
degradation in quality.
Comtech EF Data Corp bags $1.2 million order from Govt systems
integrator
