Telecom Lead America: Citrix has completed the
acquisition of Bytemobile, a provider of data and video optimization solutions
for mobile network operators.
The acquisition will allow Bytemobile to form a new
Service Provider Platforms team within the Citrix Cloud Networking product
group.
Additionally, the acquisition will significantly extend
the Citrix’s market reach, and enhance the broader Citrix strategy of powering
mobile work styles and cloud services. This acquisition,

Koopmans, formerly chief operating officer of Bytemobile, has been appointed
vice president and general manager of Citrix Service Provider Platform.
Citrix Service Provider Platform will now be part of the
Citrix Cloud Networking group.
Under this new role, Koopmans will direct operations
focused on building solutions for Citrix mobile networking and
telecommunications customers.
Citrix to buy Bytemobile to focus on mobile data and video
optimization market
The acquisition builds on a partnership announced in
February 2012 that combined the Bytemobile Smart Capacity technology with the
Citrix NetScaler line of cloud networking solutions.
With the acquisition of Bytemobile, Citrix will be allow
operators to deliver an unparalleled user experience to mobile subscribers,
while managing exponential growth in network data traffic with high
performance, visibility and efficiency.
Citrix will continue to serve and support Bytemobile’s
global customer base of more than 130 operators.
