CES 2012: 9Solutions and Texas Instruments showcase Bluetooth low energy real time locating system

9Solutions, a provider of Bluetooth low
energy-based Real Time Locating Systems (RTLS) will demonstrate the first real
time Bluetooth low energy-based indoor navigation and tracking system
with Texas Instruments (TI).

The demonstration will be conducted using Apple iPhone 4S
and 9Solutions’ Lone Worker Protection ID-Badge Tag and uTag product line.

“Bluetooth low energy technology is ideal for
real time locating systems and the 9Solutions IPCS product line offers an
optimal solution for wireless indoor asset tracking,” said Volker
Prueller, marketing manager, lowpower RF, TI.

The 9Solutions IPCS Bluetooth low energy
product line utilizes TI’s CC2540 Bluetooth low energy
system-on-chip.

“TI’s CC2540 Bluetooth low energy system-on-chip
greatly enhances 9Solutions IPCS product line both from technology and business
perspectives. 9Solutions started developing its Bluetooth low
energy-based solution right after the launch of Bluetooth 4.0,”
said Sami Herrala, CEO of 9Solutions.

9Solutions’ indoor tracking system based on
TI’s Bluetooth 4.0 system-on-chip is an example of how companies are
using Bluetooth technology to bring innovative solutions to market
through the Bluetooth SIG.

9Solutions manufactures and sells IPCS, a wireless Bluetooth technology
and SaaS based real time locating solution and application platform.
IPCS enables real time tracking of IPCS Tags, mobile phones and billions of
other Bluetooth devices.

Recently,Texas Instruments launched a sub-1 GHz radio frequency value line plug-in-board
for TI’s MSP430 microcontroller LaunchPad development kit.

The new 430BOOST-CC110L RF BoosterPack includes
ETSI-compliant and FCC-certified modules to help speed development time, reduce
certification costs and eliminate barriers associated with the RF hardware
design process.
