BlackBerry 10 platform drives Mercedes AMG Petronas Formula One Team

Telecom Lead America: Mercedes AMG Petronas Formula One Team uses BlackBerry 10 platform to improve technical and marketing opportunities.

BlackBerry is the official computing partner for the Formula One Team.

The smartphone major says they will look at improving fan engagement using new apps.

BlackBerry 10 smartphones will be used — at technical and operational levels — by the team so they can ‘keep moving’ in Montreal and throughout the Formula One season.

Mercedes AMG Petronas and BlackBerry are working together to develop the team’s use of the BlackBerry 10 platform at the team’s headquarters and at each Grand Prix.

Frank Boulben, chief marketing officer at BlackBerry, said: “It is a natural fit for BlackBerry to partner with the Mercedes AMG Petronas Formula One Team to deliver value through technical and marketing collaboration.”
