Thailand’s fixed communication services market is set for steady expansion, with revenue projected to grow at a CAGR of 2.6 percent through 2030, according to GlobalData. Growth will be driven primarily by the fixed broadband segment, which is expected to rise at a CAGR of 3 percent, supported by increasing adoption of fiber-to-the-home and fixed wireless access services.
In contrast, fixed voice revenue will decline due to falling circuit-switched subscriptions and reduced ARPU as users migrate to OTT-based communication platforms. Fiber will dominate broadband, with its share increasing from 96.9 percent in 2025 to 97.7 percent by 2030, reflecting strong demand for high-speed connectivity.
Operators are expected to focus on network upgrades, rural connectivity, and bundled digital services to sustain growth.
Thailand’s fixed broadband market is dominated by a few large operators, with Advanced Info Service (AIS) emerging as the clear leader following its acquisition of 3BB. By late 2025, AIS had built a broadband subscriber base of about 5.0–5.2 million users, giving it roughly 48 percent market share, the highest in the country. AIS is covering over 20 million households as of March 2026.
True Corporation (True Online) remains the second-largest broadband provider, competing closely with AIS in fiber services. While precise fixed broadband subscriber numbers are less consistently disclosed, True is widely recognized as the other major player alongside AIS, with the two companies together accounting for a large share of Thailand’s broadband base.
National Telecom (NT), formed from the merger of TOT and CAT Telecom, plays a smaller role in the market with a limited subscriber base compared to AIS and True, focusing more on government and enterprise connectivity segments.
Overall, Thailand’s broadband market is highly concentrated, with AIS leading in both subscriber scale and fiber expansion, True acting as its primary challenger, and NT maintaining a niche presence as a state-backed operator.
