TelecomLead Awards 2017: TelecomLead Leader – RS Sharma,TRAI

rs-sharmaThe jury of TelecomLead Awards 2017 has decided to present TelecomLead Leader award to TRAI Chairman RS Sharma for his contribution to Indian telecom industry in the last 12 months.

TelecomLead Leader Awards is the most prominent part of TelecomLead Award 2017 announced on August 23.

As the telecom industry in India witnessed commotion over the entry of a new competitor, TRAI, under the leadership of RS Sharma, adopted constructive measures to safeguard the interests of customers while ensuring that such measures won’t annihilate a healthy competition among the telcos. TRAI’s timely intervention on the interconnect issues has largely benefited the consumer community. TRAI’s initiatives for spectrum auction, green telecom, MNP, net neutrality guidelines, among others are noteworthy. The regulator also played a key role in maintaining quality of voice and data services to India’s 1 billion plus phone users.

In addition to TRAI chairman, Vodafone is also getting TelecomLead Leader Award.

TelecomLead Awards Jury details

Satya N Gupta, Jury Chairman and Jury Members including Ravindra Kr Mishra, Rakesh Mehrotra, Girish Trivedi and Baburajan Kizhakedath decided the winners of the TelecomLead Awards 2017 through two rounds of jury meeting in June / July 2017.
