Nokia Solutions and Networks (NSN) has opened two new offices in Yangon, the former capital of Myanmar. The decision will assist NSN to support 3G network roll out of Ooredoo.
NSN is currently supplying its core and radio infrastructure to Ooredoo for its 3G network in Myanmar.
The new offices will enable NSN to work closely with domestic telecom operators who want to provide network coverage to a vast majority of users across the country.
Raman Vattumalai, country head of Myanmar at NSN, said: “The decision to open modern offices in Yangon is in line with our aim to help the government in providing telecom network coverage across 90 percent of Myanmar by 2015.”
NSN’s twin facilities in Myanmar will provide employment opportunities to local youth and empower the people of the country.
