Altice USA Q2 2025: Revenue falls 4.2% as broadband, video decline; fiber and mobile growth accelerate

Altice USA reported total revenue of $2.15 billion for the second quarter of 2025, a 4.2 percent decline year-over-year, with decreases across broadband, video, and telephony services partially offset by growth in mobile and advertising.

Broadband revenue of Altice USA fell to $885.1 million from $915.0 million, while video revenue declined to $660.5 million from $739.4 million, and telephony dropped to $64.6 million from $71.7 million.

Mobile revenue of Altice USA rose to $37.6 million from $27.5 million, and news and advertising revenue increased to $118.8 million from $105.3 million.

Residential revenue decreased 6 percent to $1.65 billion, and business services and wholesale revenue slipped to $361.8 million from $369.3 million.

Adjusted EBITDA declined 7.3 percent to $803.8 million, with margin easing to 37.4 percent from 38.7 percent. The company posted a net loss of $96.3 million compared to net income of $15.4 million a year earlier.

“We saw progress across our footprint, driven by targeted localized offers, improved sales channel performance, and stronger go-to-market execution, while churn reached its lowest second-quarter level in three years,” Dennis Mathew, Altice USA Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, said.

Altice USA ended the second quarter of 2025 with 4.46 million total unique customer relationships, reflecting a net loss of 43,600 customers, compared to a loss of 54,500 in the same quarter last year. Residential customers fell by 42,500, while business services customers declined by 1,100.

Broadband primary service units dropped by 35,000 to 4.27 million, an improvement from losses of 51,000 a year ago.

Video subscribers declined by 56,100 to 1.81 million, and telephony lines fell by 52,200 to 1.34 million.

Altice USA recorded strong fiber growth, adding 56,300 fiber customers year-over-year to reach 663,000, a 53 percent increase, with fiber penetration rising to 21.9 percent from 15.3 percent.

Mobile lines grew by 37,800 in the quarter, reaching 546,400, up 42 percent from the prior year, with mobile penetration of the broadband base improving to 6.8 percent from 4.7 percent.

ARPU

In the second quarter of 2025, Altice USA’s residential ARPU was $133.68, slightly down from $135.95 in the same period last year and from $133.93 in the previous quarter.

Broadband ARPU of Altice USA rose to $74.77 from $74.13 a year earlier, though it was marginally lower than $75.31 in the first quarter of 2025, reflecting year-over-year growth despite a slight sequential dip.

Capex

Altice USA reported capital expenditures of $383.5 million in the second quarter of 2025, up 10.3 percent from $347.7 million a year earlier, resulting in a capital intensity of 17.9 percent compared to 15.5 percent in the prior-year period.

Excluding FTTH and new build projects, capital intensity was 13.9 percent. The company added 35,000 total passings in the quarter, including 28,000 fiber passings, and is targeting approximately 175,000 new passings for the full year, primarily fiber builds.

Full-year 2025 cash capital expenditures are projected at around $1.2 billion, with continued focus on high-impact network investments and efficiency improvements.
