Sprint selects Birdstep Technology to provide data traffic management for Wi-Fi and WiMAX

Telecom Lead America:  Sprint has selected Birdstep
Technology’s EasySmart client to provide intelligent data traffic management
for Wi-Fi and WiMAX.

EasySmart is designed to help Sprint meet growth in
mobile data services. It is an intelligent client for smartphones and tablets
that enables connectivity to Wi-Fi with automatic credential handling while
providing customer service intelligence, secure connectivity, seamless mobility
and marketing capabilities.

“We are very pleased with Birdstep’s EasySmart
solution. During the rollout it’s been revealed that when users are connected
to Wi-Fi, battery life was improved and they have a great experience,”
said David Owens, vice president of Product Development for Sprint.

Birdstep’s EasySmart brings efficient and transparent
support of data traffic via Wi-Fi to Sprint. Intelligent network optimization
with Birdstep’s EasySmart offers high quality of service for consumers without
decreased coverage during busy hours, making Wi-Fi more accessible for
customers.

Birdstep’s solution has already rolled out to select
Sprint devices, with additional rollouts planned for later this year.

“Birdstep is excited to deepen our relationship with
Sprint. The Birdstep Wi-Fi solution is a perfect complement with Sprint’s
innovative Network Vision platform to accommodate the ever-increasing mobile
data demand,” said Anders Harrysson, CEO of Birdstep Technology.
