Telogic delivers mobile broadband solutions with Cisco and Italtel at MWC

By
Telecom Lead Team:
Italtel, in association with Cisco,
announced it has been selected by Telogic Italy, member of Telogic Group
(European largest MVNE) and the first to become an independent MVNE (Mobile
Virtual Network Enabler) in Italy, for the introduction and Integration of the
Cisco ASR 5000 Mobile multimedia core platform.

Global mobile data traffic is growing incredibly rapidly.
Earlier Cisco Visual Networking Index revealed that mobile data traffic will
actually outgrow global fixed data traffic by three times between 2011 and
2016. Service providers must be prepared to address this growing demand from
customers if they are to continue to deliver the services that today’s
consumers expect.

The
Cisco ASR 5000 Series will form the foundation of the packet core for the
Telogic network and its European MVNO customers, delivering higher bandwidth
and greater intelligence for fast mobile Internet services, while preparing to migrate
to 4G technologies.

Italtel is the only Cisco Authorized Technology Provider in Italy for Mobile
Internet Technology (ATP-MIT). The company provides Mobile Network Operators
with mobile solutions based on original, Cisco and third party products, which
meet the challenges of mobile data traffic growth.

“We are really satisfied to have chosen Italtel as
System Integrator of our solution and Cisco for the supply of best in class GGSN
platform. Italtel has revealed to be a really trusted partner and has acted
with a great team work within a complex environment,” said Per Erik Angman, CEO
of Telogic Holding.

Stefano Pileri, CEO Italtel said, Italtel is the unique
company in Italy with a Cisco ATP – Mobile Internet Technology –
certification and Telogic has found a concrete partner with skilled and
dedicated personnel on Mobile solutions. This confirms our commitment
to support mobile service providers in facing the challenge of 4G network
migration.”

Earlier in September, Italtel announced
partnership with wireless backhaul provider Linkra Networks to jointly provide
mobile network operators, converged service providers, wireless internet
service providers (WISP), utilities and large enterprises with full IP
microwave systems.
